My Completed Cottage Quilt

I thought that you just might want to see more of the quilt Sonja helped me make to mark my “magical birthday” (28 on the 28th).  It is absolutely darling.

Since it’s for me, I think I”ll name it “The Cottage.”  But I must admit it’s too bad that I don’t have a baby girl to name it after.  The quilt does kind of look like a Minnie.

My Puppy Makes Friends for Me

Because Boo is so social and so good with other dogs, the primary objective of our walks is to make friends.  We search and search for friendly dogs for her to play with.  I inevitably end up striking up a conversation with the dog’s owner.  I can’t tell you how many friends we’ve made this way.  Boo is the most popular puppy on the block.  She has Stella downstairs.  Buddy and Bitsy next door.  Boscoe down the street.  And now, her new friend around the corner is Daisy, a Jack Russell Terrier who moved here 4 months ago from Australia.

My life is complete.

We’re a Pack!!

We took Boo to the nation’s best dog park today, Tanner Park, to give her a few hours’ romp in the mud before her bath. The park is only a 5 minute drive away from our house in SLC and is absolutely amazing. It’s a huge nature reserve where dogs are permitted off leash. It has trails, open fields, and a bubbling stream. It also attracts countless doggies and their owners, especially on beautiful, spring-like days like today.

It was Boo’s first time at Tanner Park and she loved it. She also did INCREDIBLY well! We’ve been working on loose leash and off leash walking for the last several months with her, but we were truly unsure how she would do in an open space surrounded by other dogs and people.

Well, we couldn’t be more proud. She minded so well, kept in close proximity, and consistently returned to our sides to check in. I was so impressed and deeply happy that I couldn’t help but repeatedly squeal to Erin: “We’re a pack!!” Even when there were multiple other dogs and people around, Boo knew that we were her pack. I love this puppy more and more every day. She is just the best and the cutest. She brings so much joy to my life.
